817M40 Annealed bar (EN24) is supplied in the softened condition and can be hardened and tempered to a wide range of strengths after machining. It is suitable for a wide range of applications once machined and treated where high strength, shock resistance and wear resistance are important. As medium carbon steel with alloying elements of Nickel, Chromium and Molybdenum, 817M40 Annealed (EN24) is not ideally suitable for welding.
Normally specified for a wide range of applications including gears, shafts, axles, studs and machine parts.
