070M55 Hot Rolled Bar (EN9) is a medium carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.5/0.6 % which enables it to be flame or induction hardened to produce a high surface hardness, with excellent wear resistance. When hardened and tempered, it develops a tensile strength in the range 700-1000 N/mm² depending on the ruling section.

Suitable for components where abrasion resistance rather than toughness is of primary importance e.g. sprockets, cams, rollers, cylinders etc.
